The Fallen Angel of Lust by WingsUnchained The Fallen Angel of Lust by WingsUnchained

This is the first in my series of the seven "Fallen Angels of Sin." I have always been interested in the reason behind why the Catholics consider some sins "deadly" and others not, and the Seven Deadly Sins are an interesting topic for me, so I thought I would create a fallen angel graphic for each of the sins.

Lust or lechery (or in Latin, "luxuria") is an intense desire. It is usually thought of as excessive sexual wants, however the word was originally a general term for desire. Therefore lust could involve the intense desire of money, fame, or power as well. In Dante's Inferno, unforgiven souls of the sin of lust are blown about in restless hurricane-like winds symbolic of their own lack of self-control to their lustful passions in the earthly life.

CRITIQUES ARE WELCOME. However, I would ask that you do not judge this piece based on its realism and how much it looks like a real photo. When I make graphics, I intend for them to look manipulated in Photoshop. My graphics are more meant for the message that they send and to be pretty to look at rather than to pass for an actual photo. With that in mind, please critique away!

Thank you, and :seriousnod:! Everything is sexualized these days. It's really kind of pathetic that humanity has lost sight of any sort of decent moral compass to such an extent that businesses feel they have to peddle sex just to attract the average paying customer.

Ugh I know....you see it on deviantart too

Haven't you noticed that the only artists that get any sort of attention around here do mostly "artistic nude" art? :stare:

Definitely! It's hard not to notice the ridiculous number of Daily Deviations that are mature-content filtered or, if they're not, still consist of scantily-clad women. revision

That's what I have to say to that.

And I know QUITE the number of hypocritical men who would by complaining if it was the other way around.

i.e. *half nude men paintings and such*

Yep yep. The peddling of sex is but one of the things wrong with America/the world today. Have you read "If I Were The Devil" by Paul Harvey?

It is a speech written in 1965 and the things that Paul Harvey talks about in it are terrifyingly accurate about today's America. I'd like to share it with you, but I don't believe in shoving my faith on anyone, so I'll first ask you-- are you Christian? If not, that's totally okay, and if that's the case then I would say I'll only share it if you want me to. :)
